Adam Aron, CEO of AMC, announced this past Wednesday that the prominent theatre chain intends to add Litecoin (LTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Ether (ETH) to its list of viable crypto payment options before 2021 ends.
According to Aron, this particular development was already in the works when AMC initially announced that it would accept Bitcoin (BTC) back in August. This further evidences that AMC is actively finding ways to participate further in the crypto space.
The AMC CEO then clarified that the company is now on the verge of finalizing its modality requirements to officially accept cryptocurrencies as a means of payment. Presently, AMC argues that moviegoers feel eager and excited to be able to utilize their BTC holdings and altcoins to purchase tickets and concessions on selected AMC locations spanning the entire United States. Going by how things are going right now, it appears AMC loyalists wouldn’t have to wait much longer.
AMC’s growing interest in cryptocurrencies is seen as part of a rising trend wherein prominent retail establishments from several industries are now enabling crypto payments support within the United States – and perhaps even beyond that.
As per the latest crypto data reports, the global prices of BTC, ETH, LTC, and BCH all received an uptick following the announcement of AMC hitting mainstream news.
