The non-profit group that specifically supports the ultra-popular meme-based crypto Dogecoin (DOGE), the Dogecoin Foundation, has reportedly established a strong working relationship with Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin in the hopes of launching DOGE staking.
According to the organization’s published statement this past Thursday, the Dogecoin Foundation fully intends to explore several staking mechanisms it believes would significantly elevate DOGE even more.
As part of this announcement, the Dogecoin Foundation released an accompanying road map that details the organization’s many upcoming projects – up to eight to be precise, including the launching of GigaWallet and LibDogecoin. Interestingly, as popular as DOGE has become for the past year, this is the first time the foundation has released a road map of this kind.
The particular road map the foundation published notes that they would be working intensively with Buterin to develop a one-of-a-kind DOGE proposal for a community staking variety of a proof-of-stake (PoS) framework. This would reportedly enable everyone – not just the prominent and wealthy players – to participate in a way that incentivizes them for their continued contribution to the betterment of the network.
While there is still no exact timetable on when these projects would come, the non-profit organization states that it has some important allies on top of a growing number of people who are more than prepared to put an effort to expedite the development of these upcoming open-source initiatives.
